The Big 10 #7 - Formal Cat (Min-Min)

A regular participant in online tourneys and Discord groups he's quickly made a name for himself as an all around nice guy. But don't be fooled Formal Cat is also has a deadly Min-Min up his sleeve! New ARMS fighter teased!

The official JP ARMS Twitter (@ARMS_Cobutter) went one step further with their new character tease by releasing some grainy footage of the mysterious new character in action. As you can see from the gif on their account the character seems to have inflatable trousers and nunchuck arms. I hope the dev team don't keep us in suspense for much longer!

New official ARMS post teases new stage / character!

Earlier today the official ARMS Twitter (@ARMS_Cobutter) released the image seen above, displaying a cool new stage which hints at the theme of the next upcoming character. There is definitely a confectionary theme going on here and it's likely that the new character will share this theme as well. So far the character design in ARMS has been fantastic and if this gorgeous stage is any indication when the new character is finally revealed we will definitely be in for a treat (pun intended).

The Big 10 #5 - EMP Grimm (Max Brass)

Empire Arcadia (Twitter: @EmpireArcadia) has been a solid supporter of ARMS from its launch so it was a great privilege to be able to get one of its sponsored players to take part in this week's The Big 10 interview. EMP Grimm has been putting in serious work with Max Brass and you can find his thoughts on all things ARMS after the page break.

Happy Patch Day! (UPDATED)

Update 2.1 is live and once again we have some lovely patch notes to peruse. One of the most notable changes to the game is that meter gained from punches that don't hit has been reduced, this means punches need to be thrown more thoughtfully now. This is something the community has been asking for and it's great to see Mr Yabuki and his team have been listening.

Version 2.1

• Moved “Training” to the top menu.

• Added five exercises to “Training”, and added difficulty level indications.

• Adjusted the way the rush gauge fills, decreasing the amount gained for punches that do not connect with the opponent.

• When 3-4 players start a battle, instructions on how to switch targets will now be displayed. A cursor will also be displayed above the current target for a set time.

• Adjusted hitbox sizes for fighters, improving issues where hits were not registered despite looking like hits.

• Changed the pause, results, and replay menus in “Training” to be more convenient.

• For “Best Stage” in Stats, making it harder for less frequently played stages to be selected, even if you have a high win ratio on them.

• Corrected issue that caused the game to hang-up when the ending was skipped at a particular time.

UPDATE: 

• Rush cancelling seems to have been adjusted making grab cancels ineffective. Austy (Twitter: @AustyLaVista) shows the nerf in the video below.

Data-miners find hints of potential ARMS update plans!

ARMS Balancing update coming tomorrow!

Earlier today @ARMS_Cobutter (Nintendo's JP announcement Twitter account for ARMS) highlighted the fact that we can expect a balance patch tomorrow focussing on improving some of the lesser used ARMS in the game. This is great news because stronger arms will contribute to a more diverse meta going forward. Hopefully, the team release patch notes like they did in the last update! If they do we will be sure to post them here.

A translation of the original JP text (done by @armsfan_eng) can be seen below:

"This time the "less popular arms" will be the focus to receive tuning up. Especially the boomerang.What's the one ball that's thrown out continuously? I forget the name... Is it the release date? Umm, actually...isn't it tomorrow?Eheheh! At a rapid pace, please! The main adjustment update is scheduled for tomorrow! Hurry up Mechanica!"
